Our People
Umgozi Gossip is a civil action group formation drawn from all communities to promote active empowered citizenship. Our aim is to provide a space for active citizens to reclaim South Africa and take control back of our infrastructure, our morals, our country, and our future.
We stand for a community that takes responsibility for their quality of life, a community that decides for itself the kind of community that they want to belong to. Working together we need to find practical and sustainable solutions (not just complaints) to prevent and fix the decline of our key state departments, state-owned entities, corruption, poor service delivery, real problems, and ills within our communities.

Why Umgozi Gossip?
Gossip has always been the lifeblood of any society. Without it we will not know what is going on around us, we will not learn and will not survive. The key is that we want to share information in an appropriate and responsible way that is helping others, that can help grow our communities. Through this platform we allow communities to naturally connect, to share information, ideas and opportunities without fear or favour irrespective of race, religion, culture, or gender without embarking on any political agenda.
Good Gossiper
Someone who people trust with information and who uses information in a responsible way. We want to be good gossipers and invite you to join us.
Bad Gossiper
Someone who shares information about others for their own personal gain, in order to get ahead or they just use it plain recklessly.

Why have we, as citizens, allowed for corruption and criminality to take place within our communities? Why have we accepted criminal behaviour, unethical actions by others, allowed ourselves to be bullied by those that WE put in power? Why have we allowed ourselves to be treated as lesser beings? Crime is only possible because we allow it.
We are driven by fear, but we are powerful. We can only withstand the bullies by standing together. Not through violence, but by using our voices and our actions to bring sustainable changes. Our community’s moral compass has become disorientated, we need to re-establish ourselves as the South African Community that we can be. Strong, ethical, and active citizens.

We cannot wait for politicians and other community leaders to rescue us; we need to rescue ourselves. We need every citizen who is prepared to say enough is enough, who is prepared to help us change – “One Mindset Change At A Time”
We Challenge Misinformation
We hold journalists accountable who use misleading headlines to gain attention and sell their story – when did it become OK to skew information to drive a narrative or use misleading headlines that drive emotions whilst ignoring the facts or hiding the facts in the small print.
We seek responsible journalism – journalists who are willing to tell the full story with balanced headings – but we know some journalists want to sell the news no matter the cost. We expose people who are out to drive emotions – please don’t be THAT GUY! We have seen what happens.
